I remember seeing painted buntings for the first time at a place I visited in Cristoval 2-3 years ago. But seeing them bathe - so cool! Some birds have been cooling off in my fountain daily, but each time, my camera was elsewhere...
What PRETTY little things they are! I actually knew just what these were, because my daughter and I read all about them in her 'My Big Backyard' magazine last week! I wish they did live in our backyard. . .
Beautiful, colourful little birds, they are very cute, I am pleased that they are enjoying your waterfall...I would have liked a cool dip in it a few months back too but it is very cold here today. Have a great weekend dear Kathleen!
"If you build it, they will come." That little guy is just wonderful. It must make Denny feel like King Kong to have built that waterfall (and I'll bet it's still right up there at the top of the best birthday presents you've ever received).

My favorite bird! I saw one fluffed up to twice its size in my bird bath last week, and almost didn't recognize it.
