Dear Universe

Dear Universe,

When I said, "I want my life to encompass the unexpected,"  I did not mean the tooth I broke on a piece of popcorn, necessitating a loooong dental procedure.

Or the leak by the chimney that sent water down the pipe to my rug in the middle of the night.

Or the ladder that fell from the roof to my head, raising a lump and making me a temporary redhead.

Although I am thankful that my head is hard.

Just so we're clear, I was thinking more along the lines of butterflies or rare birds or wisps of errant stories.  Although really good chocolate would make up for a lot.

  1. I guess we have to be more specific about what we wish for.
I hope all of those disasters did not occur on the same night, hope your tooth is OK, your head has healed and the leak is fixed. When you think about it dear Kathleen you do have many things in your life to be thankful for and the nicest part is that you are a lovely person and appreciate all of those blessings and you are truly deserving. xoxoxo ♡

  2. Chocolate can do wonders. Who cares about the anti-oxidants or whatever, it just seems to ease a lot of burdens.

I am glad you survived all of this. You have such a good attitude. I just want to cuss up a storm when things like this happen to me.

  3. I've had days, weeks and months like that. Be careful out there, OK? Thank goodness nothing else went wrong. I have been enjoying your previous posts, envious as always of the amazing variety of birds in your yard. I love the hummingbird video. They are so feisty!
I'm hoping your unexpected events are good ones from now on!

  4. Oooh....there's another 'be careful what you wish for' moments.

I used to wish for patience. Then, my daughter was born. I really didn't mean THAT much patience. She's 38 now, and still I need

Hope all your surprises are happy from now on.

  5. Yesterday within the space of about fifteen seconds I spilled my water, broke a saucer and discovered a really nasty example of dog shit on the rug.
I have no idea why I felt the need to relate that here but I obviously did.
    The universe can be tricky.

  6. I hear you. I hope your noggin will be okay.

    Love you!

  7. A hard head is a plus in other ways also.

  8. "wisps of errant stories" DANG! I love that phrase! You should hit your head more often.

  9. hahaa! You have all that good and happy stuff, even if you have to take it with the not so pleasant, I'd say the Universe has done you a solid turn :) Plus you're cute!

  10. Yep. You have to be more specific when you make your requests. Hope your head is better and your chimney no longer leaks. And red hair rocks!

My readers are all geniuses. Can't wait to see what you have to say.
